Today, many people with HIV are living long, healthy lives. Increased success in the treatment of HIV is largely due to advancements in antiretroviral drug therapies. But while people with HIV are living longer, many are experiencing new comorbidities and complications. That’s partly due to the advancing age of this population (25% of people living with HIV today are over the age of 50) and partly due to the prescribed medications that are keeping the disease itself from progressing.

Because there is still no cure for HIV, disease management must focus on suppressing the virus, preventing its progression, and treating coexisting medical conditions. At Apothecary By Design, we understand the importance of forging a personal, ongoing relationship among the patient, healthcare providers, and our dedicated clinicians. This team approach enhances medication adherence, identification and management of side effects, and monitoring for drug-drug interactions.
